In 1776 the colonists decided to go to war. They went to war against England. They went to war because they wanted to be free. A war to replace one government with another is called a revolution. Deciding to go to war was hard. Troubles for England started in 1763. England passed new laws. The Colonists did not like the new laws.
I think its right for people to start a revolution. That way if they win they are their own country.
Title: King Midas & The Golden Touch
This story is about a king named Midas whose wish was to have the golden touch, and one day he is granted this wish by the god named Dionysus. The king is so happy with his new gift he goes to a garden and touches all the flowers and turns them to gold, but later feels ashamed because the flowers have no smell and all the colors are gone. Later the same day his daughter comes to greet him with a hug but the king knows she’ll turn to gold and she does, the king also tries to eat but can’t because of his gift turns all his food to gold. The king doesn’t want to have this gift anymore so he goes back the a river and the water washes away his gift and everything is back to normal.
* Better Nutrition
In the magazine, it tells you ways to stay healthy. It helps you with life, and what you should and should not eat. It shows what supplements to take if you want to look a certain way. These supplements are helpful in nutrition. If you get sick often, there are supplements for that as well. A couple ways to keep your energy boosted are to stress less, eat for steady flow, exercise a bit, and build stamina. This magazine tells you why you need certain pills. It tells you how it works and it also tells you what kind of benefits it has to offer. If you’re a cook, this magazine has healthy recipes that wont hurt your diet and show up on the scale. I thought this magazine was helpful, I thought it was interesting.
Title: Road to Revolution 4/12/07
Section: Fighting for a New Nation
The section I read was talking about the reasons for why they had started fighting between the thirteen colonies and the English. In 1776, they fought because they wanted their freedom and they wanted to rule there selves. During the thirteen colonies and England they called it American Revolution. It took them a long to decide whether or not when they were going to start the American Revolution. The fact that I liked about this selection is that they wanted peace, they wanted to rule their self, not having somebody rule them, and they wanted freedom. I learned that back then getting what you wanted you had to rally fight for it.
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul.
"Unconditional Mom."
This short story is about a teenage 15 year old girl named Sarah. She knew she could push her parents around and get away with basically everything. If she couldn't get away with it, she'd do it anyways. Sarah did not know why she did the things she did. She snuck out, lied, went out with boys, cursed at her parents. But the weird thing is, all the things she was doing, she wasn't doing any type of drugs or any illegal affiliation. It came to the point where she kept telling her parents to forget about her and forget she exists. She would say it so much, that her mother started to believe that she ment it. Sarah began realizing all the things she was doing and was afraid to apologize and change her ways so she began inflicting pain onto herself. She tried to jump out of a moving vehicle moving 80 mph. She ended up in the hospital but her mother was there and told her that she is her mother and Sarah is her child, she will always love her and nothing will ever change that. I'm happy that Sarah was able to realize what she was doing but its sad that she had to have an accident for her to realize what she was doing to her family and herself.
♥Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul II
♥“A Crush” Written by J. Leigh Turner
♥The story was about a young girl who had a crush on her co-worker who was about five years older than she was. I don’t think there was really any moral to the story except the term crush meaning that it had left her crushed. I can’t say I enjoyed this short story, it was boring…
- CONTiNUED -
I also read another two letters. Each one sent to that special someone the writers never met. It talked about their needs, and how they would want them to love them despite their flaws. I enjoyed reading the letters far more than the other story, "Crush."
Today i was reading Seventeenth summer. This book is about some girl who just really likes this boy, but shes like kind of a loser and the boy is really popular, so this girl is very nervous because she doesn't know how to tell this boy. So one day he comes to her house, because her house was also a store, and they start talking. The boy had nerve noticed her, not even in school, and it was a small town, so anyway, this boy likes her and starts asking her out. She told him she really like him and he took her out on a very romantic boat kinda thing. He starts letting her meet his friends and hang out. He shows her how much he likes her. They got in a fight because she went dancing with another guy.
I think this is an awesome love story. I think its very sweet but the boy shouldn't get mad just because they went dancing, because that was all they did...DANCE!
The book that I’m reading for this morning is called chicken soup for the soul which the story that I’m reading for this book is called “why I choose my father to be dad” is about a guy that talks about how he used to not liking his family he say that why they choose him to be in a family with a guy that is always with the animals. His father was a farmer also a teacher his father thought that a person had to be a smart person. At first he didn’t like his father the way he had a lot of brothers but then when his father told him for what he had to past trough to be what he was he learned that his father was the perfect one for him. He graduate because of his father and now he is trying to be like him he helps people and try's his daughter to do the same thing. What I learned in this story is that you have to accept the family that you are with because that people is always going to love you. I like about this story is that talks about family that the family is always going to make you a good person. I also like that it talks about how he wants his daughter to be with him.

Summary: Chapter 3 was about that Ann was having a hard time saying good bye to her closes friend. But that friend was her brother they get along so well that she cried so much because he was just going away for a couple of days with her cousin that invited him for a sleepover. To me she made it seemed like if he was moving to another place or that he was going away for ever. But I realized that even relatives could become one of your best friends. I think the only time or moment that it would be hard for me to say bye is if the person dies, that would really hurt me. What I think is that Ann is being to exaggerate because is only for a couple of days that her brother is going away is not like if he is going for ever.
