Title: The Great Migration
Section: A New Life
After the African Americans had been sent to start a new life, the migrants had began to go to every city in the North that they had started filling it with hope. It wasn’t that easy for some to get jobs, start their own business, build their building. But some other African Americans had the hope of getting a job starting their business, and more. The African American people had went to the north and they found out that out there they paid much better than they were getting paid in the southern. They also had founded that the north had better schools, and they could vote for their leaders, and they had more chances to build a successful career. I learned that back then African American had it really hard in the slave days, and they couldn’t do very much for their leaders like voting for them. The most interesting fact that I liked about this story is that they found somewhere were they could find better jobs, get paid much better, and having their children in school getting the education that they needed.

Silk cloth is valued for its beauty. Spices like mustard seeds are valued for their strong taste. Salt is valued for their flavor. It is also known for its ability to preserve food. Animal fur has always been valued for its warmth and how it looks. Cinnamon comes from Sri Lanka. It comes from the bark of the cinnamon tree. Spices come from many parts of the world.
I didn’t know there were so many spices. I also didn’t know mustard was a spice.

BOOK NAME:1001FACTS ABOUT THE HUMAN BODY
What I read today was about the Skull. The skull is the most complicated part of the human’s skeleton. The most important sense organs, cranial vault which encases the brain, is protected by its skull. Because of the bones on the face, it helps provide anchorage for muscles, which involve facial expressions, such ass to talk or chew. In a baby’s skull, the bones are not fully fused. It also has fontanels which are soft spots on the baby’s head. So it causes the skull to slide and overlap. Therefore, when the baby is about to give birth, it can squeeze through the narrow birth canal. On the base of skull, there is a spinal cord which passes down into the spinal column from the brain. This is attached by the foramen magnum, which is actually a large hole. What I liked about this passage, I just read, was that there are eight bones make up the cranial vault to support the brain. The total of bones in one’s face are a total of 14 bones. Interesting facts, were that the skull contains 22 bones, completely. It also houses ossicles which are tiny bones of the middle ear, with three on each side.

Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III.
"Why Rion Should Live"

A girl named Sarah becomes friends with a boy in her spanish class whom everyone would consider a "freak". His name was Rion. Rion, was the type of guy where everyone stares at him and is most likely scared to talk to him because he looks like he gives off this "goth" type of vibe. Sarah got to know the real him and started having long talks on the phone. Sarah knew Rion had problems in his family. It camp to the point where Rion wanted to kill himself. Sarah made him promise that he wouldnt kill himself for that night and meet up with her in the morning for school. She stayed up late writing 50 reasons why he should stay alive. The last one said "You should never regret who you are, only what you have become". She gave him the letter in class and he didnt speak to her until the end of class. Rion gave her a big hug and they almost cried. After that, Sarah found out that Rion had moved to a different school and is now living with his grandmother. Sarah got a phone call from Rion months later, he sounded so much happier, he has good grades and joined the soccer team. She is happy she helped save a life.
I like this story because i can relate to it, I know many people who went into that path and i've helped them get out of that area. Suicide is something serious and its something to not joke around with.

*Rome
Rome is the capital of Italy. Italy is a country in southern Europe. Rome is a busy, commercial center and a popular city with tourists. It is a city known for its beauty and rich culture. Rome is often called “The Eternal City”. In Rome laws and government were very important to its people. Ancient Romans were also great builders, especially of roads and waterways. Long ago, the Romans united different lands into an empire. The Roman Empire covered most of Europe. Rome was the most important city in the empire. More than a million people lived there. In ancient Rome, olives were an important crop. People used olive oil for lights, cooking and even washing. I like this book because if your planning a trip to Rome, this book would probably answer any questions you have about this city. I thought that this book was interesting.

+Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul
+“A High School Love Not Forgotten”
+The story I read was about a girl who fell in love with her high school boyfriend who was her complete opposite. She had always been used to the gossip, movies, and going to parties with her boyfriends and he was different. Her boyfriend was named Bruce and he was very romantic. Bruce would write her poems and stuff them into her locker and write her long letters expressing his love for her. She was not used to it, whenever she’d read his letters she felt insecure. She would write him back thinking of the most intellectual words but she was afraid he’d notice that she was trying too hard. Instead of realizing that he may have been her other half, she was afraid and decided to break up. She went back to the jocks that didn’t confuse her with big words and of course, she regretted the break up. She will never forget him, Bruce helped her grow up and mature.
+ I enjoyed reading this story because it reminds me of a situation my friend went through. But luckily for her, she listened to my advice and they are still togther. =)

“Stress Less”
Stress can drain a lot of your energy. It puts the body into “fight or flight” mode, pumping adrenaline and excessive amounts of fats and sugars into your blood. Even when the stressors are removed, the consequences of both acute and chronic stress persist. That’s why its essential to lighten your load and to incorporate relaxation into your lifestyle. Meditation, yoga, tai chi, an aromatherapy bath or relaxing music are among options. Also, deep breathing is an easy way to feel invigorated. Shallow breathing can contribute to lethargy.
I think that if stress takes away your energy you shouldn’t stress it. Since it takes energy away from you maybe it could affect your mood.
I didnt know that stress takes your energy away.

The book that I I’m reading for this morning is about a boy the had a accident because he was doing what he love to do surf. The hospital called the dad and told him that the son had to be on the hospital and never go back to the water or at least for a long time. Because he had a big accident the mother went to the hospital and saw his boy their and the boy told him that he was going to be ok. He told her that he wanted to be on the water in 2 weeks but his mother told him he can. It past a lot of weeks and the kid wanted to go to the water but the mother told him he can so he did a poem to her telling her that that’s what he love to but the mom didn’t let him she thought is she love him she was not going to let him do it. What I learned from this story is that even if you love a person a lot you don’t have to let him do everything he wants for his own good. What I like about this story is that I love how the mother is taking care of her son.
