Title: Pygmalion’s Statue
This story is about a king named Pygmalion. Pygmalion had no friends and had no wife because he spent all his time making statues. His statues were so beautiful but he never sold them, instead he gave them to Aphrodite the goddess of love. Aphrodite told Pygmalion that he needed a wife so he can have a kid so the kid can rule when he dies, but Pygmalion said that all the women he met were greedy and cruel, and that when he met a women as beautiful as his statue he would marry them. So he decided to make the most beautiful statue he ever made out of the finest marble, he spent days working on a statue that he named Galatea who was human like. One night he wakes up and stands in front of the statue and says he wants to make the statue his wife, all the sudden the statue wakes up and they become husband and wife and live happily ever after.

*Renaissance and Reformation
One of the greatest artists of the Renaissance was Michelangelo Buonarroti. Many city-states like Florence, Venice and Milan had grown rich from the increase of trade during the late Middle Ages. Using their wealth from trade, the Italian city-states beautified their churches, palaces, and other public buildings with great works of art. The Renaissance began in the wealthy and powerful city-states of Italy. The Renaissance produced new styles in the arts and new ideas in science. The Reformation brought change to the Catholic Church, but also led to conflict among Europe’s Christians and to the rise of the Protestant religions. When artists and scientists took a fresh look at the world around them, important works of art and scientific discoveries resulted. A movement begun to reform the Church soon divided Europe’s Christians into many faiths. This book is all about Money, Power, and Art. I thought that this book was interesting.

Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul.
"Gabby, your're sooo Skinny"

This short story is about a girl named Gabby who made straight-A's, she was a wonderful student and very involved with school activities. Gabby weighed about 125 pounds. She decided that she wanted to lose a few pounds when she saw that a friend was going on a diet, and getting great results. Gabby started off exercising and eating healthy. After many compliments from friends and being noticed a lot more, she decided to lose more weight to get more attention. Everything became a problem when she was no longer getting attention, so she decided to stop eating and try harder for more compliments. She went days without eating, and her problem grew bigger. One day her father sat her down with a steak and told her that she had no choice but to eat it and he was going to watch her. Gabby sat there crying and screaming, hating her father for doing this to her. Gabby finally gave in and ate it because he would not let her go until she did eat it. She sat there thinking in her room crying, and realized that she didnt hate her father, she hated herself. Gabby finally worked her way back to a normal weight size and is now happier. I am happy for Gabby, not many people can realize their problem and work their way out of it. I can relate to her because i almost went through that stage, some people think that i am in that stage. I am happy that it did not get worse befor eit got better.

Book: 1001 facts .Today I read about when bones meet they are usually meet up with something called Joints. When bones and joints meet up they are held together by ligaments. Ligaments are band of tissue. There are some cases where some joints are locked together with the bones. While, then again there are some bones that are capable of moving freely. The surface of these types of bones, is protected by cartilage. This cartilage is lubricated by something called synovial fluid. There are a few joints, where they do not work with movement. But one thing they are capable of is allowing the bone to grow and protect. Some joints, together fit less tightly and are for limited flexibility only. Once the brain is fully developed, the bones are locked together and form suture joints.

Title: Road To Revolution
Section: New Taxes
I read the Road To Revolution about the England new taxes. In this section one tax made colonist pay for stamps and put them on many paper goods. The stamps had to be put on there contracts calendars, playing cards, newspaper, The taxes had made paper goods more expensive then what they had use to be. Many of the England people had tried to fight the stamp tax but it didn’t work out, they didn’t even buy none of the stamps. Instead the England was in charge of the stamp selling’s out of their own towns. The thing they I had learned was that Europeans didn’t have problems with the taxes they just didn’t want to buy them because they were so expensive then what they were before they had started the new taxes. The most interesting fact that I liked was that they were helping people get their stamp but the other thing is that they had to make business to help the rest of their people.

The book that I'm reading for this morning is called chicken soup for the soul which is about a lot of different stories the one that I’m reading is to like your self is called “my declaration of self-esteem” is just about a girl that talks about her self how she describe the way that she is. It say that no one could be like her even dew she sometimes doesn’t like the way she looks but she knows that no one can be like her. She also says that people can be in a lot of different ways but that’s the way they are. What I like about this story is that is says the truth because you have to like your self so people could start like in you. It also talks about how you have to accept the way we are. I learned that is truth that you have to like yourself so someone could like you.
