Title: State by State Atlas
Section: Utah
This state is the state where the Anasazi had first settled the region seven thousand years ago. America fur trade was with the in 181, Utah at first was called Ute and since the U.S had took over that land and named it Utah since then they have been the most populated state. Utah had grew more populated when the first transcontinental railroad was completed in 1869. The most interesting thing I like the most was how long Utah had been going through changes, and how they had held the Olympics out there. I also was interested in the amount of population was. The thing I learned about Utah is that it’s a beautiful state to be at and it seems like there are lots of people out there that would be good to meet.
today i read about the bodys frame work known as the skeleton. the skeleton helps make shape and protects the muscles as well as it helps it to move. it is made up of hard bones and soft cartilage. skeleton is a living tissue, and is regularly renewed. mostly a females skeleton is found to be smaller and lighter then one of the male skeletons. when you first are born you usually have a total of 300 bones in your body. but as you begin to grow, your bodies bones begin to meld. leaving you with an average of 206 bones.
i thought it was intersting that some people are capable of having an extra pair of ribs. another intersting fact about one body and bones is that, most bones are found in ones hands and feet.
Chicken Soup for the Soul.
Dont be afraid to fail.
This short story helps you understand that you will not succeed at everything you try for the first time. Not only can you fail once, but you can fail plenty of times before you ever get it right. It explains how the first time you walked, swam, and swung a bat. The short story also explains how a few famous people failed hundreds of times before they could finally accomplish what they were planning to. I like this book because it speaks the truth, everyone can relate to it. I learned that R.H. Macy failed seven times before his store in New York caught on. I'm amazed because usually people will give up after the first or second time. I have never heard of anyone trying seven times.
Title: King Midas & The Golden Touch
This story is about a king named Midas whose wish was to have the golden touch, and one day he is granted this wish by the god named Dionysus. The king is so happy with his new gift he goes to a garden and touches all the flowers and turns them to gold, but later feels ashamed because the flowers have no smell and all the colors are gone. Later the same day his daughter comes to greet him with a hug but the king knows she’ll turn to gold and she does, the king also tries to eat but can’t because of his gift turns all his food to gold. The king doesn’t want to have this gift anymore so he goes back the a river and the water washes away his gift and everything is back to normal.
¤Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul
¤“I Try To Remember”
¤The story I read this morning was telling about the eleven things the writer always tries to keep in mind. The few that stuck out to me were; It’s okay to make mistakes, Not everyone is going to like you, and I’m in control of how I feel. I enjoyed reading this section because the writer made good points. On, “Not Everyone Is Going To Like You,” the writer pointed out how people don’t like people and expect everyone to like them. Also, how it doesn’t matter if some people don’t like you- as long as you are being true to yourself- it shouldn’t matter who doesn’t like you.
Title section: Road to revolution
Picture description: There are so many people that are fighting in war with guns, in the other one there are people in a meeting with the governor on the side since it talk about that people did not like the new law.
Summary: This book talks about how the united states have 13 colonies and how it was back than before the 13 colonies. What a colony is a place were is ruled by another country. England was the one who ruled the thirteen colonies, the first English colonies was settled in 1607. people thought that they didn’t had things in common with other colonies they didn’t even know that they were Americans. The people would called themselves from the place that they were living like people that live in new York they would called themselves new Yorkers. Many people were fighting for their new revolution this was in 1776 when they went to war against England because they wanted to be free. They wanted to ruled themselves. After the war was over some of them were not happy with the colonists and the new laws.
I read the same book. Today I read that in ancient Rome, most people in the country made their living by farming. They lived in homes made of mud bricks and wood. Farming was hard work. The families spent little time in their houses. Most of the time they worked in the fields. Their houses had little furniture and very few windows. Olives were an important crop. People used olive oil for lights, cooking and even washing. Other products came from different parts of the empire. For example, grain came from Egypt and wool came from Britain.
Economically speaking I think it was a good idea that people would make cash crops. I think that they were using all they could to make money.
I learned that ancient Rome houses had little to no doors and windows.
