Book title: Chicken Soup for the Women’s Soul
Today I read a poem called It couldn't hurt. This poem was basically about a mother who does random acts of kindness, to feel better about life. She shows her family that she cares and decides that by saying that it couldn't hurt. She invited a lady who had no car to eat, and she enjoyed her time. When her friend was sick at home, and made her a chicken soup. So hopefully she would feel a little better. She was a good person and thought about those other than her family. This women is a good role model because she treats others as she would like to be treated and how people should treat each other. I believe that this character in the story is a very positive women. And in order to be happy and successful in life, it’s always good to do random acts of kindness to others.
Title: Wild Animals
Today I read about dolphins & seals. One of the dolphins I read about is called the bottle nosed dolphin, this dolphin is easily bored and acts hyper or unnaturally in zoos as a result. It communicates with whistles and squeaks, also uses echo's to locate and detect distant objects. These type of dolphins are located world wide. I also read about a seal called the Californian sea lion. It swims by moving it’s forelimbs, it’s coat is light & fawn when it is dry. The male Californian sea lion’s are called bulls, and the females are called cows, you can find these sea lions in the North Pacific coasts. One interesting fact I learned is that when sea lions are walking they turn their hind limb forward.
In the book the I Ching I learned how Taoist practiced divination in there religion. Divination is the belife that you can see the future trough some act in this case it was a random act like flipping three pennies and saying whether the result was yin or yang. Yin represented by a solid line is the Masculine principle, that involves heaven, activity, movement, heat. Yang is represented by a divided line is the Feminine principles, that involve Earth, passivity, stillness, cold. At first the I Ching was only two lines representing heaven and earth a third line was added representing human beings. These are called trigrams and form eight in all. Two trigrams are put together to form hexagrams resulting in 64 possibilities each representing a regular occurrence in human life.
To me all this is interesting how man tries to define occurrences into even more random occurrences. But it is all part of life to define were we are going.
I the most interesting fact is how they put facts to random numbers to define what is the next occurrence and whether of not to provide on business.

♥“All the More Beautiful”
♥The story I read this morning was on a seventeen year old who desperately wanted to be an adult. He would shave almost every other day and finally got his own car, he believed that was making progress. All he thought he needed to be an adult was the girlfriend. He eventually met his dream girl and everything was going well until- he noticed she didn’t have that perfect smile she once had. He confronted her but she denied the sudden change. She suddenly broke into tears and admitted she was suffering from anxiety and depression. He then realized that she was not perfect, but that just made her all the more beautiful.
♥I thought it was very cute how the writer described how he felt like a man just because he shaved and drove his own car. =)
Wild Animals
Reeves Muntjac the males have small antlers. Holds its head low when running. Barks when alarmed.
The size of the animals teeth can tell a lot about what the animals eat. Some animals like the giraffes sleep standing up. Orangutans are strong but gentle. There are lots of types of apes and monkeys. There are also lemurs.
I have never seen that many animals. There were also animals I have never seen in my life.
*That’s Really Funny!
In this book, many of America’s favorite comedian’s tell funny jokes/stories. Book says that you will find over a thousand hilarious jokes from current headliners, living legends, movie and television favorites and hot club comics from around the country. There are all kinds of jokes in this book. You will read about holiday jokes, airplane jokes, sex jokes and parenting jokes. You will also read about eating jokes, jokes about aging, jokes about religion, and cracks about political correctness. They say that once you start reading this book, you wont be able to stop. I thought that this book was pretty funny, some of the jokes are a little corny.
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul
"Always Return Your Calls".
This short shory is about a girl who whishes to be known anonymous. She has a best friend named Charlotte who was going through a very rough time. Charlotte was getting very moody and depressed. The only person who she did not argue with or withdraw from was her best friend who sent in the story. This anonymous girl's name is being told as "Angela". Angela had to move across town away from her best friend. It hurt her because now she wouldn't be able to hang out, she most likely will have to talk through the phone. Well one day angela was out, and missed Charlottes call. When she returned the call, 30 minutes later Charlotte calls back saying she had a gun to her head in the basement and was going to kill herself. The only thing that stopped her from doing it was hearing the answer machine go off. Charlotte then said that she was going to get help and that she loves her.
This story was pretty shocking to me. I've known about stories like this and it's so hard to go through a situation like that. I learned that when your friend is having a hard time, try your hardest to help them get the stress off their mind. Some people can only handle so much and need people to help them out. Angela helped Charlotte out the best way she could and had no idea about the basement incident. But atleast she tried her best to keep in touch and that was all she had to do to help her friend.

Section title: The great migration
Picture description: The picture has people working and sweating.
Summary: The reading today talk about how people in the south used to live. Most of them were slaves where they were forced to work for others. The nations lawmakers wanted to rebuild the south in new and better way. In 1865 congress set up the freedmen's bureau to help make life better for the freed African Americans. The bureau provided food, clothing, housing, medical care, jobs, and schools. Congress passed laws giving African Americans the right to vote, hold office, and own land. Many people in the south were not ready to accept African Americans as equals. They wanted things to remain as they had been before the civil war.
