I am reading the book When the Wind Blows. I read chapters 16 and 17. These chapter were mostly about Kit Harrison. About how he is different and although he is an agent working for the cops, he still does what he wants. The investigation he is secretly working on has put him in interest. The Colorado murders of four doctors. In some way they are all connected in the past and the present. The all must involve something important. If Kit is so interested. I think it all has to do with maybe an experiment that went wrong. The interesting fact is how this little girl that Fran saw had wings and that’s very fascinating.

East Asia

Licuala palms grow in the rain forests of Borneo. Only about 400 Sumatran tigers remain in the wild. Every year about 25 million try to climb Mount Fuji. Scientists cannot predict when an earthquake may occur. They cant predict when a tsunami might come either. Gobi is the Mongolian word for desert. Gobi is the largest desert in Asia. It stretches from China to Mongolia.
Asia is a huge continent. Gobi is the largest desert in Asia. The Sumatran tiger is dying out.
I didn’t know that Russia was part of Asia.

Title: Wild Animals
Today I read about different type sheep. The first sheep I read about is called the musk ox, under its coarse hair is a fine, wooly undercoat. A herd will stand in a line or a circle to face an attacker. Another type is the Saiga. The male has horns and an inflatable nose. The winter coat is white and shaggy. The Barbary sheep is the only sheep with a throat-fringe. Both sexes have horns. The Markhor is the largest wild goat. It also lives in herds usually led by an old female. One interesting fact I learned is that all goats have beards.

Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul
"Kissing The Bully"

Today's story is about a young girl named Lia.When Lia was in elementary all the way thru high schol she was being bullied by a guy named,Ben.Anyway she told her dad and her dad told her Ben had a crush on her.At first Lia didn't believe it.Then a couple years later she blossomed and she became prettier.Lia went on to have a couple boyfriends thru-out high school, but she never really found the person she was looking for.One day she was running and she bumped into Ben and Ben told her if she wanted to see his new apartment. She went on to say she did wanted to visit his apartment. So once in his apartment they were talking about their past when they were younger. Then it happened Ben kissed her and she told him if he had a crush on her and he ssaid yes.He went on to say that the reason he bothered her was because he liked her and had a big crush on her.

I think this story is really cool. It's alright and kind of funny because Ben use to bully her around. Now both of them are going out.

The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.

"Race" by Bart Schneider
a book of short stories

I read another part of Susan Straight's book. In this part of her story, she talks about her family. How her mother's mother emigrated from Switzerland. How her father left her when she was 3. She also explains when her mother told her how her father left. She said her mother waited til she gratuated from college. Her dad met her mother at her mother's job. Her mom got pregnant and had her and when her mom got pregnant again, when she was 8 months along, her dad left her.
i didn't like the fact that since her dad was a business man, he left the family. That is not a responsible parent. A true parent would not abandon their child.

In the book the Great Mysteries of the Past I read an article entitled Unsolved Riddles of Watergate I learned of some of the mysteries involving Nixon and the Watergate scandal. It began with five untrained burglars that were caught at Watergate caring cameras and electronic surveillance equipment. All the men involved with the burglary had ties to the CIA. They were only caught because they had taped the door open and a security guard un-taped it and the unsuspecting burglars re-taped it. Later traces were discover linking it to the White House. The charge for this was led by two reporters for the Washington Post Carl Bernstien and Bob Woodward who also helped earn their newspaper a Pulitzer prize for their work. This was not the first time that the Nixon administration was in trouble with the press as the book also tells of his trouble with the New York times because they printed that bombing made by the U.S. were occurring in Laos.
What I have learned so far in today’s read is that Nixon’s term as a president was a very shaky one that lead to so many controversies that I think that it would be safe to say that.

♥ Chicken Soup for the Soul
♥ Love & The Cabbie
♥ This morning I read a short story on a woman who had a theory on how to save her home city of New York City. It started with her ride on a cab when she complimented the cab driver on his skill to drive patiently in traffic. The woman happened to be with her friend when she complimented the taxi driver and her friend couldn’t help but ask, “What was that all about?” She answered her by explaining that if she was nice enough to give the taxi driver a compliment, the taxi driver might be nicer to his customers, and the customers would spread the love in their own ways making a happier world. The woman’s friend said it sounded nice on paper but would never work. She ignored her and continued to believe in her theory. =) The End.
♥ My favorite part of the story is how despite all the negative criticism from the woman’s close friend, she decided to stick to what she believed in.

They all lie along a region of earth that is known as the ring of fire. Islands are areas of land that are completely surrounded by water. But they are called archipelagos. Section Title: East Asia picture description: There's is lots of pictures of the desert with people walking.
Summary: the reading was about how many earthquakes occur along the borders of tectonic plates. Scientist who study earthquakes are called seismologists. But most of the earthquakes are so minor that people don’t feel them. In Colorado there is a national earthquake informational place were is open all the time it never closes during the year this place tell when there would be an earthquake it alerts the people that study earth quakes. In the desert is always hot and dry. And is only based on land that does not have houses or buildings it’s a lonely and not a good place to be. What I think about today's reading was that it was interesting were every scientist is really alert when there's an earthquake.

Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul:
In this book I have read a section called Losing the “Us”. This section is about a girl who is in a relationship but isn't going so well. She talks about how she missed how her relationship used to be and it wasn’t that way anymore. Their relationship started getting harder. She felt like it wasn’t about them anymore. She felt like they only talked about what happened around them. One day she asked her boyfriend if he wanted to break up and he said yes. They broke up but since they went to the same school they still had to see each other. The next day she did her best to look really good so the he would now what he had lost. As time passed she realized she had forgotten how to be herself. She only knew how to be in a couple. She didn’t feel whole. She called him and told them that she wanted to be with him. He told her that it was impossible for him to love her. She didn’t know how to deal with this. She started spending more time with her friends and after-school stuff. Slowly she began filling that void she once felt. I really like this story. I think that everything happens for a reason and if she didn’t end up with him its because there is someone out there that is better for her.

-Chicken soup for the teenage soul
-Changes in life
-there was a girl named Sheila. She was 16 and a junior in high school. Then her parents decided to move from Texas to Arizona. She only had two weeks to pack her business. She had to leave behind her best friend, boyfriend, and her first job. For a while she felt like her life was over. Then she started to get used to the people. She started to make friends and she met a guy. They only talked in the class. They started to go out a couple of times. Slowly she started to forget about her relationship in texas. But the guy was a jock and she was in the band. So their social status did not let them hang out. After a while his friends started accepting her. Then they let everyone know that they were going out. So she says that she has met the guy of her dreams.
-I like this story because I relate to it a lot. This happened to me once and I didn’t want to move but after a while I liked it.
-One interesting thing that I learned is that you shouldn’t be scared to try new things and that some things happen for a reason.
