The section that I read about was about pregnancy and baby care. In week 12 the baby looks more human, and the discomforts of early pregnancy may begin to wear off. By week 12 you should have made an appointment with an obstetrician or midwife by now. If vomiting was not an issue for you, you probably have gained weight. You should also start thinking about taking prenatal classes. Child birth classes themselves start eight to ten weeks before the baby is due. During week 16 you should be feeling healthier and more energetic than your first trimester. The baby should be fully formed and has been nourished by the placenta since week 14. During week 20 you would probably have a strong sense of well-being in the middle months of pregnancy. A lot of women look and feel better about themselves because if noticeable improvements in skin and hair.I thought that it was very interesting that after the 20th week of pregnancy women start to gain their health that they had before pregnancy back. I also thought that it was weird because when a female is 16 weeks pregnant if you get an ultrasound the baby’s head looks too big for his/her body. I think that this book will help me very much on answering questions that I’ve been curious about.A fact that I thought was very interesting was during week 24 the baby is capable of sucking, swallowing, and breathing while still in the placenta.

Title: Our Lady of Guadalupe
This part of the book was about identifying Our Lady of Guadalupe. As it says in the book that she has many identities. Historically she is an event. In other terms she is someone that forms and supports both cultural and religious identity. It also said that based on the impact she has made on thousands of people it is clear that happened long ago was a powerful influence on the people. People are deeply moved and feel healed, and encouraged. They don’t feel alone.
Reflection : I think that by reading this section I learned some things, and also Our Lady of Guadalupe is going to be around for a along time.
I feel that Our Lady of Guadalupe did something really important because she encourages people.
Interesting Fact: I learned that people confide in her. She is a consoler, mother, healer, intercessor, and woman. She is a

Title: If I Had My Life To Live 0ver
Today I read a short story based on eclectic wisdom. Eclectic meaning different choices of wisdom. In this story the main character talks about if they had another life to live what they would do different or what they regretted not having done. So he speaks about the things he should of done. Like not be too safe and secure about things. For example, walk around with a thermometer or hot water. But instead take more risk, do more crazy things. Take more dares. Go bungee jumping and pariah gliding. Just to make his life a better place. More adventuress and daring, with thrills. Kind of like a roller coaster it has it’s ups and downs, but in the end it always turn out fun. Then you end up not regretting getting on the ride. If I had another life to live over I would want to have more brothers, so then I could be able to do whatever I want with out my mom breaking her head wondering what im up to. I would of like to really not care about what others got to say or think about me or anyone. Not pay attention to what society has as gossip about others, and just be more of myself. one thing I liked was to go into the future beyond our present and just think how things would have been better if done. What I learned is that sometimes when you’re young its good too go and have fun doing crazy things but, not go on doing extremely crazy things. But life is short and you never know when your time will be up.

- Chicken soup for the teenage soul
- The Birthday
- There was this girl who was 16 years old. She was an only child and loved it. Then when one day when her mom picked her up after her hockey game. Her mom had told her that she had gone to the doctor. She got a sick feeling and she asked why. Then her mom answered because I’m pregnant. On the outside she acted like she was very happy but on the inside she was trying to deal with the fear and anger. Even though she was mad she helped with decorating the nursery and even picking out the name. She started to think that what was going to become of her life. She was scared of losing her mother and her families’ love. Then the day came when the baby was being born. It was the most incredible thing she has experienced. After the baby was born her fear went away. She never thought she could love a baby so much.
- this story is very familiar to me because I have felt like this. I was in 7th grade when my mom was pregnant. I also felt fear but when my brother was born it all went away.
One interesting thing that I learned is that you should never be afraid of your family.
Chicken Soup for the Womans Soul.
"Mothers Day"
This short story is about a woman named Sharon who is pregnant with her 4 pounded son. She talks about how she felt during the pregnancy, all the bad side effects. She then talks about her second pregnancy, how it was much easier. She talks about the struggles of raising a child, of how you begin to worry a lot about your children. How you can get so used to answering to the word "Mommy" even when it's not your child yelling it. The progress of the child growing, getting past the potty training, the bottles, the dentist, the first days of school. Then the worries of the up coming problems, the growing up. The becoming a grandmother. All and all, it makes it worth to being a mother, and being proud of yourself on mothers day.

Section: Loving your self first
In this story section, a young boy by the name of Harlan, wanted to see if someone was going to send him a valentine carnations, since it was valentines. Everyone of his was either was sending someone a carnation or they had already did. Finally on valentines day the flower carnation was sent out and Harlan was waiting to see if he was getting one, so far every one in the class already has one or more then one, next thing the teacher started calling out name and his name was not said yet. So after noticing his name wasn’t called in the first row of names he waited and waited, than the teacher called out a couple of more names and he name was called. Instead of the girls that he was thinking to send him a carnation didn’t instead he just sent one to his self and never told any of his friends who had sent it to him. The thing I learned about this story is that you don’t always need to love someone else you always could love yourself because that’s where most of the love is coming from, I also learned that even though Harlan didn’t get no card from a special girl it still was a special thing because he sent it to himself saying you should always love your self first before anything or anyone. I liked the fact that they where passing out valentine carnations, because I remember when we use to do that to. I also liked the fact that he sent one to his self instead of having one sent by somebody else, because either way it goes his heart was still filled with joy.
Forever Odd by Dean Koontz
Today I read a short part of this book and it was really intresting.Well, the main character's name is Odd and he could see dead people.Right now he's talking to Dr. Jessup, a radiologist and the doctor has been killed. Also Odd is scared because the doctor has a boy named Danny and Danny may be in trouble.Dr. Jessup has been killed and the killer may kill Danny too.So Odd is hurrying up so he can get to the house and meanwhile he's thinking about calling police chief,Wyatt Poter.Wyatt Porter has helped him out before and knows about Odd's especial ability.Anyway Odd gets to the house and when he opens the door inward he feels that the the door moved as smoothly,as silently as the mechanism of a well-crafted,springloaded trap.
The part I read today was in fact intresting. When I stopped reading I couldn't stop because I wanted to see what happened next.Well,I guess I'll have to wait what happens next.
You don't live in this world forever.
*The Great Migration
From 1915 to 1930 thousands and thousands of African Americans migrated, from the South to the North. This movement is called “The Great Migration.” Life in the South was still very difficult for many African Americans after the Civil War ended in 1865. Most African Americans in the South still worked as farmers, and few owned their own land. They were very poor and lived in small, run down cabins. Their children had little chance for an education. The Civil War ended slavery but left the South a ruined land. In 1865 Congress set up the Freedmen’s Bureau to help make life better for the freed Africans Americans. The Bureau provided food, clothing, housing, medical care, jobs, and schools. Many people in the South were not ready to accept African Americans as equals. I thought that this book was interesting because it tells how people really reacted towards African Americans.

Picture description:There are pictures of all kinds of kites.
Summary: More than one million people gather to watch giant kites fight each other to stay in the air. Some kites are more than ten feet and three meter wide. As many as many team computer in this kite-flying contest, which is held each year on may to celebrate boys day. This Japanese holiday recognizes the importance of firstborn sons in Japanese culture. The object of the contest is to knock down other teams that are competing with other Kites. Through out the Japanese history kites had been used in many different ways. There are even kite festivals were they each take their own and compete with others. when they start having the contest the Japanese always touch their sons hand for luck. what I think about this is that I never thought that kites were that important for the Japanese.
Title: East Asia People and Places
Today I read about the kite traditions in East Asia. The Hamamatsu Kite Festival tradition dates back to the 1500’s when a large kite was flown to honor the birth of a Japanese prince. The important thing of the kites in Japanese culture is that it dates back even further. People believe that kites were invented in china about 3,000 yrs ago and they got introduced to the Japanese about 1,300 yrs ago. Throughout Japan’s history the kite have been used in different ways, military officers used the kites to carry messages. One interesting fact I learned is that the builders used the kites to put bricks and stuff in it and sent it to the top of the buildings to other people.
This morning I read a short story titled, "Forever Rocky," in the book, "Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul." It was about a bulldog a family had for about four years and lately the dog had been very ill. In fact, he was so ill that it was time to put him to rest. The daddy had been putting the trip to the vet pff for a hile but he felt like he would be helping their dog by finally sending him off to dog heaven. And he was, but the whole way home he was contemplating on ways to tell his children about their beloved bulldog, Rocky. But it was not as hard as he thought it was going to be. His chldren already knew he was in dog heaven waiting for them.<33 EL FiN

"Race" by Bart Schneider
A book of short stories
I continued reading the letter he wrote to his daughters. He was talking about how black people back then got scorned just for looking too loud!!...what!? This story was kind of complicating because he starts to talk as if people are objects, not humans. He was talking about the black people as if they were nothing, using personification for that person to explain the "above named." Like how they dressed, how they looked, and how they looked like they could act, not actions. I guess it was a very prejudice time back then. I don't see how this man could grow up in a society like that and live up to those aspects of life, living a life of the surrounding area and time but not his true feelings. It made no sense to act in that way against racism.
