Title: 1001 facts about The Human Body
Today I read about circulation and the heart. I read that the circulation of blood was first described by British scientist William Harvey in 1628. When the body is resting, only 4% of blood is in the heart, the rest is circulating in blood vessels. 13% of blood in circulation is in the brain. The blood circulates at a rate of about 8.8 pints (5 liters) per minute when the body is at rest. The normal adult pulse rate is about 50-100 beats per minute at rest. A pulse rate faster then 100 beats per minute is known as tachycardia. A pulse slower than 50 beats per minute in an adult is known as bradycardia. One interesting fact I read about is that too much exercise, too much coffee, stress, or a fever can all cause the heartbeat to increase

"Race" by Bart Schneider
a book of short stories

Today I continued reading the short biography of Susan Straight. She talked about her life before marriage. Like how she met her husband Dwayne in the 8th grade. She said she married him when she was 22. She also said how Dwayne's mother was so glad they were in love. She told of how Alberta, Dwayne's mom, always gave her advice. One thing was that she had to cook and clean to keep her husband. That was not a factor in the relationship they had. Dwayne was self-reliant. He didn't need Susan to do everything for him. I liked that part because the relationship was not a one person marriage. I also like that hi9s mother was very concerned about their feelings and gave advice to keep it that way. I can say that is a good, caring, and considerate mother.

I continue to read When the Wind Blow. Written by James Patterson. This chapter 20 is about Fran. In this book they jump around from character to character. Well Fran keeps thinking about her dead husband. How he was in biotechnology and they would do many experiments. She talks about deformities in animals and humans. Like a cow with two heads, a hermaphrodite, and a boy with skin that made him look like a lizard. The more she tries to convince herself that she didn’t see a girl with white and silver wings, the more she believes. If I saw that id trip out. A girl with wings. That’s like every humans dream, to fly. The interesting fact is how so many people are deformed and have problems. Its sad.

-Chicken soup for the teenage soul
-My story
-There was this girl named Lia Gay. She was 16 years old. The story starts out with her saying that she has never thought about committing suicide. She starts saying that she spends the summer with her mom. She spends the school year with her dad. She has lost some friends because her pain was too much for them. She has also lost two boyfriends because of her actions. Then she says that statistics show that immediately after attempting suicide the person desperately wants to live that’s when I realized that she also tried to suicide. Now she knows that there are people that do care about her. Now she has met a guy and she is learning how to love herself and let other people love her.
-I think that this story is pretty strange because at first I didn’t understand what it was about. Then I realized that the narrator was sating how she felt before and after she tried to suicide herself
-One interesting thing that I learned is that the journey in between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place.

Forever Odd by Dean Koontz

The part I read today was really cool. Odd is inside Dr.Jessup's house and he got tasered by a stranger. Anyway the stranger was about to kill Odd, but the stranger heard something outside the house. Odd thought that Chief Porter came with deputies, but i don't think that was the case. Right now Odd is lying on the ground and trying to call Chief Porter and when Chief porter answers Odd tells him he's in the pantry on the floor because he got tasered. Odd tells Chief Porter to hurry up because the stranger that tasered him is getting away. Odd also tells him he might have kidnapped Danny. Odd is really worried about Danny because Dannny has Osteogenesis imperfecta, also called brittle bones.

Today the part I read today was cool. A lot of things happened and I could understand why Odd is upset about Danny. Well I know too a person with brittle bones and they're just like crystal balls because they could brake easily.

Don't look at people diffrently just because they have a disease because at the end we are all human beings no matter what.

Book Title: Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III
Title: I Had to Let Him Go
The story I read about today was based on relationships. It was about this couple, who seemed to love each other very much. Although there were problems in their relationship they always seemed to be there for each other. Her boyfriend past was full with dreaded memories spent with his mother. Because she would tell him that he was a mistake, and a disappointment to her life. Since he didn’t live with her he would have to spend weekends with his mother. But every time she would she him she would put him down by saying all these mean things. Making him think that he could go no where in life and that his talents for art were s#*%. She would say that he was imperfect, unlike his brother. This made there relationship have many ups and downs. There were days were he would spent with his girlfriend, smiling, making jokes, cuddling one another. But there were also those times were he was sad and she couldn’t even touch him he would take himself apart from her and tell her cruel things that didn’t even address her. Then every time he would say something the next day he would apologized knowing what he had said was wrong. He would tell her that she was his only family, and that all she had to do was keep on loving him. There came a day where she finally realized that their love for each other wasn't going to help take those painful memories away. So she finally decided that she had to let him go, for his emotions inside where really hurt. And he needed special help, he needed to let more people into his life to become a happy person. So one day she told him that she couldn’t help him anymore, although he had felt as all she had said to him throughout their relationship were lies, but she had to let him go for his own good. After that day she had not seen him for a year, until one day were his eyes were full of happiness. Then she thought to her self that she had done the right thing for both. One thing liked about this story is that I can really understand it well. And I know where he’s coming from because I once was in a situation like that as well with a friend of mine. But one thing I did learn about this was that when you have emotional problems in your life and you have that someone that is willing to help you, it is best to just let them go even though you really love each other. Because its way better than hurting the one you love, and making your problems there’s as well.

*Your Guide to Safe & Responsible Sex
With a typical use, the birth control pill may work by preventing ovulation. A women takes a pill that contains either a combination of estrogen and progestin, everyday. If taken correctly, the pill provides non-stop protection from pregnancy. It can also make a woman’s periods more regular, reduce cramps, and shorten or lighten her period. Condoms provide good protection against most STDs, including HIV. Plus they are cheap and easy to find at any drugstore without a prescription. It can break and it can leak if not withdrawn carefully. Condoms must not be used with any oil-based lubricants like Vaseline or massage oil. This book has a lot of facts.

"Animal Farm"

This story is about a farmer whose farm animals don't like the way they are being treated. They are overworked and underfed. At night, when their owner goes to sleep, they all gather and start meetings and talk about their plans. They decide to run the farm the way they want to. The leader of the meetings was a pig named Major. He talked about how the "Man" was the enemy. The man doesn't do all the work the animals do, he just takes care of the animals but does not treat them how they want to be treated. They want to be breeded more, but the man is always taking milk that fertilizes the calfs from the cows, taking all the eggs from the chickens, they want babies. I think that this story is kinda cute because the animals are creating their own little government.

Title: Chicken soup for teenage soul
Section: Dear boy
in this section its about a girl, who writes a letter to this boy that she have know clue would might be he true love. In the letter she started saying how she wanted to be treated and the things that she would expect for him to know about her like in the story she said instead of daises she likes roses, and that her eyes change colors. Basically the letter was noted to be ready for when she find out who her true love is in the future. She also let him know that if they where to break up that they still could be friends but the love she has for him will never end, and that they would be best friends. I liked the fact that she an female who is waiting for the love of her life instead of her going to him she wants him to find her, I also like the fact that she was up front and she just wants to be love like a young women should. I learned that instead of me finding love, let the love find you, I also learned that a women should let a man know the way she wants him to treat and love her like he say he do, and that after loves end you don’t have to separate from each other you still can be very close friends.

Chicken Soup on the Teenage Soul
In this section of the book I read the story “My Knight on His White horse”. In this story I read about a girl named Becca that since she was little she had an image of her perfect man. She imagined him romantic, tall, blond, deep voice, and smart. One day the man she wanted came along, just one minor detail. He wasn’t as perfecta as she would have wanted him to be. He was five years older than her a little shorter. He had a very squeaky voice. He was a scrawny little man. He was very funny. He made her and her friends laugh. They were hanging out one time and she asked to use his bathroom, he agreed as long as she gave him her number. Time passed and they kept hanging out together. They grew closer and closer. With time she realized that she really wanted to be with him, Chris. She didn’t want to lose their relationship so even though he would always tell her he liked her she would keep her feelings to herself. A year later they started growing apart. They both started dating other people. One day she calls him and they talk and coincidentally they are both single. So they meet again and she finally tells him and they start going out. Time passes and it’s the best relationship they have ever had, at least for now. They have real feelings for each other. Time passes and even though they are together they start growing apart. They finally broke up and they are still friends. She then realized that there is no such thing as a perfect man. But what comes unexpectedly is great. I really like this book. It shows that not everything goes the way you expect. Also just because are very close to someone doesn’t mean that he or she is your soul mate.

♥ Chicken Soup for the Soul
♥ “All I Really Needed To Know, I Learned In Kindergarten”
♥ This morning I read a short story on how a man named Robert, feels like everything he really had to know, he already learned when he was five in kindergarten. We all learned never to hit anyone and if we were hurt someone, to apologize. We all learned to clean up after ourselves, and to put everything back in their place. When we go out in the world, it’s better to hold hands and stick together. We learned to share and play fair. Wash your hands before and after you eat. Never forget to wipe and flush the toilet. Everyone knows that if everyone were to take an afternoon nap each day and eat warm cookies with milk, the world would be a better place to live.
♥ My favorite part of the story is the entire story, even though everything I read are things I already knew. It was good to remember the important things in life because it could make all the difference. <33 THE END
