Chicken Soup for the Women’s Soul
Title: It Couldn’t Hurt
This story is about a lady who wrote down her everyday schedule and when she did Random acts of kindness she said “It Couldn’t Hurt.” But thing that she should be doing like calling her brother to tell her she misses him she said ”he misses me too!!” And playing Candy land with her daughter those are things she should do. But I think its funny when she writes I gave my assistant the day off with pay –it only hurt a little, but she didn’t have to do that but she did.
This story teaches us a valuable lesson on treat those to how you want to be treated. Basically she’s learning the good things in life are free.

Title:1001 facts about the human body
Today I read about cells. I read that body systems are made up of organs containing different tissues. A tissue is a collection of similar cells that perform a specific function. Over 200 types of specialized cells act as the body’s building blocks. Cell features structures called organelles, which means “little organs” which carry out many vital functions. Cells are bathed in fluid, which brings them oxygen and nutrients . It also takes away products, such as hormones, and wastes, such as carbon dioxide. The adult human body contains over 50 trillion cells. One interesting fact is that 3 billion of the body’s cells die every minute, but most are renewed.

Today I read a short story called, The Birthday, from the book Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul. This story was based on family. This girl who lived with her mother. Was always so insecure over her mother. She always worried for her, ever since the day her and her father had separated. Her mother got with her new husband. And Melissa did accept that fact. But she still she had never wanted someone else to take the love away from her and her mother. One day as she came back from a field hockey game from school. After winning their victory, she was so exhausted and excited that her team had won. Once her and her mother were in the car. Her mother spoke to her in a serious tone, and that’s when she gave her daughter the news that there would be a new member in the family. Melissa had a shock phase run through her body for she couldn’t believe what her mother was telling her. She had always loved being the only kid. And although it seemed selfish she wanted in to stay that way. The shock and happiness that expressed on her step father’s face got to her. And for she was happy on the outside, but deep inside a bit sad and angry. To her she never had this coming. The day that her mother was at the hospital giving labor. She was there as well and at that moment she realized how beautiful it was to have a new baby sister. The thing I liked after reading this story is that it can relate to those who are only Childs, because everyone feels a bit selfish at some point. One thing I learned was that even if you really want all the attention for yourself, you have to think that you grow up fast. And your mother too, but she won’t have that little baby she had before, because things change. So in a way it is nice for something new too come into one’s life.

-Chicken Soup for the soul
-All the good things
-Todays story is about a teacher who's name is Helen. She taught at St. Mary’s school in Morris Minnesota. She had a student named Mark Eklund, he was one in a million. He was a very talkative boy and again and again she would have to remind him to not talk without permission. He would always answer “ thank you for correcting me sister.” one day she was growing impatient and punished him by putting an X with masking tape over his mouth. When she looked back she saw that it had worked. Then she was asked to teach junior high math. As the years flew by she eventually had him back in her class. There was a week were she was teaching a very hard concept. She saw that the students were getting frustrated and edgy with one another. So she decided to ask the students to list the names of the other students and put the nicest thing that they can about them. The next day she everyone their list and quickly she heard everyone starting to whisper. The years had passed and she hadnt seen him for several years. One day she returned from vacation and her parents told her that Mark had died in vietnam. His funeral was tomorrow and in the funeral his parents went up to her and her the list that she had given them. Even though it was all wrinkled an retaped over and over he still kept it. Them all the classmates that were in the same class took it out also they had all kept it .
-This story is really interesting. I like it because I have never heard anything like it.
-One interesting thing that I learned is that it’s the little things that motivates us and keeps us going on

*East Asia
In the Rain Forests of East Asia, there are new developing animals. Rare eagles and recently discovered lizards, bats make these forests unusual. Some of the forests are also being threatened from acid rain. Their trees are sold for wood and the land is often turned into farmland. Many of the plants and animals are losing their natural environment. The good news is that many people are working to protect the regions remaining rain forests and wildlife. Trees grow on mud flats, soft, wet dirt the is flat. There is so much moisture in the air that there is always a mist, which is why montane rain forests are sometimes called “cloud forests”.

Title: Rome Section: Then And Now In this short story, I read that Rome was the center of the great civilization long ago. There laws and government were very important to there people. The Ancient Romans were great builders, especially when it came down to them building the roads and waterways. Still today many of the buildings and government are important today to us. The Roman people had united different lands into an empire, and the Roman Empire covered most of Europe. Rome was the important city in the empire, and more than a million people had stayed there. An emperor had ruled this vast empire, and under one ruler, many people in the empire led comfortable lives, but there were a few wars, but instead it was a time of peace in the Rome. I liked the fact that they had a comfortable lives, because mostly in the ancient time there weren’t that many people who had the life that they should of have had. I liked the fact also that back then in the Rome there wasn’t that many wars and that’s good compare to how many wars really happened back then. I learned that Rome was a place were there was peace and a great life.

Reflection-6/6/07

Today, this mourning blog will be about my passion for the sport of football. Right off the bat, I was never really given the opportunity to ever play a single game while I was attending Mission Bay High School. Most of which was because of my academic grades, which were pretty low. Even when I was eligible, they never took me seriously and just looked past me and used me for a dummy. When the team practices, the most I ever got to do is the position drills with the rest of the wide receivers, and cornerbacks. The coaches were into playing the “favoritism” role with the team, leaving everyone else alone on the sideline. Its fine though, because I listened, and observed the way coaches coached my others teammates, as I am on the sideline. Most of the time you will always see me standing next to the many coaches we had at the time. Now here I am after leaving MBHS couple years ago, going from school to school, because I have made mistakes. My love for the sport of football has never changed. I use all of the adversity that have been thrown my way as, my motivation. It just relaxes me. When I am on any surface about to take on the challenges the sport will throw at me, I enter a state of mind feeling as though, “I cant be touched, cant be stopped, cant be moved, cant be rocked, cant be shook.” The reason that is, is because I came to get hype, came to get loud, and came to get the job done. Every since I left MBHS, I have pretty much been training, and coaching myself. I taught myself how to catch a football, how to run a route, how to protect the football. “Everything everyone watches me do when I play football, I taught myself, with the help of some others.” I may have always been skinny, but I was always running people over, I didn’t play skinny, because I expect to win! I would have never gotten to where I am today if is wasn't for the individuals I have met since leaving MBHS. Thank you all, I will not let you down!!!!!!!

California Driver Handbook

Today I read this handbook. This handbook is about how to drive in California highwasys. Also it tells you how to drive safely. When you finish reading this handbook you could go to the D.M.V. and have a driver license test done. If you pass the test you can get your driver's license and if you fail you'll have to take it again.

Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III.
"The best of brothers"

This short story is about two brothers who can not stand each other. Fighting was all they did. The older brother Mike, would always beat his younger brother up every night and get yelled at by his parents. One day the family goes skiing and Mike gets into an accident. He may be dead because he lost control skiing and hit a few trees. The little brother and his friend go to check him out and the little brother tries his best to keep his brother warm. He prays that his brother does not die and realizes all the times he wished his brother would die. His brother only had a concussion and they now have a better understanding of each other. Mike was beating his younger brother up because he was jealous that his younger brother was smarter than him and never got yelled at.

Section tittle:renaissance and reformation
Summary: this book was about ancient things that happened a long time ago. There was a rebirth that occurred during the renaissance this place was taken in Greece and Rome. It began in the 1300 in the independent Italian city states, which were made up of a city and the surrounding territory was ruled. Many of these city states, such as florence, venice, and Milan, had grown rich from the increase of trade during the middle ages. By using their wealth from trade they considered their churches like if they were the best things. But things were changing throughout the middle ages like scientists people were advancing. What I think about this book is that there were a lot of things that were very interesting like the ancient pictures that they had. One of the things that I did found interesting was that I didn’t know that art came from a long time ago.

♥ Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul
♥ A Long Walk Home
♥ Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn.
♥ This story is about a father and his son that had a life lesson experience. The boy’s father asked his son to drop him off at work and take the car to the shop to see if there was anything wrong with the car. His son knew that this meant that he trusted him and he knew not to mess it up. Once he was at the shop, the mechanic told him everything was fine and he could go ahead and go home. His father asked him to pick him up from work at 4 p.m. and it was barely 1:30. He decided to go see a movie because he has extra time to spare. As soon as he knew it, time flew by and he was already two hours late to go pick up his father. He quickly thought of a lie to tell his father, he decided to tell his father that the car had a few problems and the repairing took longer than he expected. The look on his father’s face was priceless, you could tell he didn’t know what to think. His son quickly apologized and said the car had a few problems he had to worry about. His father answered him right away, “it’s sad that you feel like you had to lie to me son.” Of course he tried to deny his lie but his father said that he had already called the shop to ask if everything was okay. His son right away felt a rush of guilt and apologized. But instead of getting in the car and driving home, his father decided to walk home thinking about how he thought he had raised a son that would grow up and tell the truth. Never again did his son lie to him.
♥ I enjoyed reading this because it reminded me of an incident with my mom and how the experience has made me the way I am today. I never think twice about telling my mother how I feel, what I have done, and what I’m thinking about. She has always been there for me and I regret the times I thought I had to lie to her. <33
