Today I read about how to care for your lizards in sick times. Then giving them a diet condition for them it is very unlikely for them to get sick. Most times they are getting sick is because they be having poor husbandry. Back in the day we lost a lot of species because we would catch wild animals and wouldn’t know how to keep them in health. We have progressed in the past years for nerchering these animals. They say that it is better to know the sickness then to have it on your reptile and not do anything about it so you can give it medicine so they can get help. reptiles will usually die when you have them in poor conditions.
I think that people should take more care of their reptiles. The reason peoples pet die is because they don’t get them a friend. People should not get pets if they don’t know how to take care of them.
Today I learned that when you have a pet is that you have to find them a friend and keep them in a good condition
Today I read When the Wind Blows. It was written by James Patterson. I read chapter 26 and it was about Mathew. Mathew is Max’s little brother. Mathew is thinking of Max and how they will meet again. He says they have never been apart for so long. Only a couple of hours because of punishment but that’s about it. He is hidden in the woods still. But an unthinkable thing happen. Uncle Thomas finds Mathew and shoots him. He falls to the ground. I guess he put him to sleep as they say when you kill an animal. That’s sad because Max really was hoping they would meet again. I guess that’s a dream that will never come true. The interesting fact that Mathew is dead is pretty sad.
Title: 1001 facts about the human body
Today I read about the evolution of the human body. Some scientists believe that life on earth began four billion years ago. Single celled organisms gradually evolved into more complex multicelled plants and animals. Fossils suggest that humanlike creatures, hominids, first appeared 5 million years ago. I also read about skulls, fossil skulls provide the best evidence of evolution. Differences in the structure of the brow, nose , jaws, and teeth help to identify which hominid species the skull belongs to. One interesting fact I read about is that Homo sapiens is the only existing species of hominid, which is us humans today.
*Renaissance and Reformation
The hero David from the Bible was a favorite subject of Renaissance artists. A bronze sculpture was created around 1465 in Florence. The Renaissance began in the 1300s in the independent Italian city-states. The Reformation brought change to the Catholic Church, but also led to conflict among Europe’s Christians and to the rise of the Protestant religions. The Renaissance produced new styles in the arts and new ideas in science. The Renaissance began in the wealthy and powerful city-states of Italy. When artists and scientists took a fresh look at the world around them, important works of art and scientific discoveries resulted. With wealth from trade, the rulers of Italy’s city-states supported painters, sculptors, architects, and other artists. Venice was built on muddy islands only a few feet above the sea. The city has been slowly sinking, while sea levels rise. I thought that it was interesting how experts predict that within 50 years Venice could be mostly underwater.
Chicken soup for the soul
Title: Make it come True
The story is set back in 1957 in California a ten-year-old boy set a goal. To get the autograph of the best running back ever to play pro ball, Jim Brown. Sadly the boy had a disease called Rickets which forced him to wear steal sprints to support his skinny legs. He was raised in the ghetto and had no money to buy tickets to a game to see his idol. So one day he just waited by the locker room till he came out. When he did he asked for his autograph and explain to him how he was his idol. And he was going to break every record he held. And he asked the boy what is your name he replied “Orenthal James, but my friends call me O.J.” O.J. Simpson went on to break all but 3 of the rushing records held by Jim Brown before O.J.’s injuries shortened his football career. Goal setting is the strongest force for human motivation. Set a goal and make it come true.
So the boy did what he said he was going to do and became a famous football player. And he would of done better than his idol Jim Brown but his disability forced him to retire from his career.
♥ This morning I read a short story called, Words from the Heart. It was about how an older woman was suffering from cancer and was getting closer to dying. The woman was friends with the writer of the story. The sick woman kept telling the writer how she even though she knew her husband loved her, she wished he told her. The writer then took the initiative to talk to her husband and asked him if he even told her that he loved her. His response was yes and that she already knew that. She then explained to him that even though we know people love us, it feels really good to just to hear those three little words. The next morning, the writer went to the hospital to visit her friend, she found out that she had died at 11 a.m.. She then saw her friend’s husband leaned up against the wall outside the room, crying. He told her that he told her he loved her and that smile she gave him was priceless. He said that words could not explain the happiness he brought each other by telling her that he loved her. Also, that even though she gone, he’s happy to know that she left in happiness. <33
♥ The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.
Today I read a short story about real life situations, in a book called Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III. The story I read today was based on an event that happens in a relationship. The story title is, “ I Never Thought It Would End This Way .” This was based on a couple who were very close. They were not only in a relationship being boyfriend, and girlfriend, but they were also best friends. It had been 2 yrs already that they had live in together in lives. But one day as time past there was a silence of awkwardness that grew upon them. Things weren’t the same anymore. And how their relationship had first started they both never imagined things would turn downwards like it had happened. But it was something of life that they had to go through no matter what. Even if it hurt so bad it’s better to comfort someone with your feelings that let it stay inside you. What I liked about this story is that it described the scenery so nice and I would imagine it so beautiful. But one thing I did dislike was that it didn’t say why they had broken up. One thing I did learn after reading this story was that everyone has to go through hard times, and anything could happen to the impossible.
"Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul"
A book of short stories by various authors
I just started reading this book and I started with the short story, “My First Kiss, and Then Some,” by Mary Jane. She described her teenage years in a very desperate way. She was searching for her first kiss. She said that the first person that kissed her kissed her in the teeth. She said then when she was a sophomore, she ditched every guy she knew that came towards her. She didn’t know how to kiss until she got out of college. Well when she did get out of college, she ended up going to a new bar and ran into him. First thing she did was walk up to him and give him a kiss. Next thing you know, the guy introduced Mary Jane to the woman next to him, which was his wife.
I think that she should not have done what she did when she was in high school and avoid every guy she knew. I like that she finally did go back and do what she had been trying to do all those years.
Forever Odd by Dean Koontz
Chapter 9
Today's chapter was cool. Odd is trying to find the guy who tasered him. Also Odd is trying to find out if Simon Makepeace is the guy who kidnapped Danny. Then when was running torwards the van he heard a gunshot. Odd stopped and hid behind two big trash cans and he thought that the gunshot was a shot from a shotgun, but he didn't know where it came from. He came out of the trash cans and he ran torwards where instinct led him. Then he saw the white van, but when he went and looked nobody was there. It looked as if the van got abandoned. Odd tried calling Chief Porter, but Odd's cellphone had no battery.
Today's chapter was really good. Odd was really close to catching the guy he was looking for. Unfortunately the guy got away.
"When you want something really bad you'll get it."
